Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are extremely thin and fine and made of stainless steel. You can fit anywhere from 2-5 acupuncture needles in the hollow of a regular needle used for injections! Everyone's experience is different. Most people feel very little if any discomfort, or a tiny pinch when the needles are inserted. Once the needles are in place there should be no discomfort. During the treatment there may be no sensation at all or you may feel tingling, distension, or energy moving which are all signs that Qi is moving
